World’s Oldest blogger log off forever @ 108

World’s Oldest BloggerOlive Riley the Australian lady. Known as the world’s oldest blogger passed away at age of 108, with her last posting talking about her ailing health but also how she still sings a happy song every day.

16Buzz share deepest condolences with Olive Riley.

Born in Broken Hill in 1899, Olive was introduced to blogging by a friend Riley to blogging early in 2007.

Olive Riley wrote 74 entries in her blogs, firstly www.allaboutolive.com.au and later http://worldsoldestblogger.blogspot

Extract from one of Olive’s post:

I love singing that old favourite, Happy Days are Here Again.

Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let’s sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again

Then there’s:

I want to be happy
But I can’t be happy
Till I make you happy too.

I also enjoy singing that catchy Disney tune: Zippity Doo-dah

Zippity doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin’ my way
Zippity-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

The lovely nurses in my hostel sometimes gather in my room and sing this litle ditty to me:

Old Mother Riley
We love you,
Yes we do,
We love you.

That’s just the first verse. When Mike returns home, perhaps he’ll make a video of the nurses singing all of it, so you can see and hear them.

So long for now. Please send me your comments… and start singing, everyone!

All Bloggers really will love and remember you Olive!

  1. It’s enough to put you off Olive Riley, almost. They are going just great, but every day. I went to a song then I walked up through my room.
